Seeburg 161 Jukebox
A rare opportunity to purchase this Seeburg 161 jukebox. This model of jukebox has become very difficult to find in the UK, especially in this original unique condition and is being offered for £7500.
The Seeburg 161 jukebox was produced in 1958 by the Seeburg Jukebox Corporation. This was Seeburgs first jukebox to hold 80 records, giving a choice of 160 plays. It also has Seeburgs now famous Tormat electrical selection unit, this is unique as the actual selector has no moving parts.
The jukebox has been fully stripped, cleaned and lubricated. The cabinet has been repainted to its original colour. The chrome work is original and has been brought back to a stunning polished finish.
The jukebox power requirements are 117v AC ( This is an American standard),the unit has been fitted with a 220/117v AC transformer.
The cabinet lighting has been changed to LED tubes with a switch to allow only lights on the jukebox and no power to the amplifier or record selector, this means the jukebox can be lit up purely for display purposes.
The record pick up (cartridge) is a dual headed magnetic type feeding into a 7 tube high fidelity amplifier with two 12 inch low frequency speakers and an 8 inch high frequency speaker, all go to producing the now famous superb Seeburg sound.
The jukebox has been fitted with a free play unit and a 50Hz frequency drive unit (required for UK frequency).
The dimensions are H=56 inches. W=31 inches. D=27 inches.
